Apes-humans link not in God's plan
Apparently science has replaced the concept of a missing link with the more complex but just as deceptive idea of a gap between apes and humans. Apes and humans were distinct creations each with their own purpose and place in God's plan.
Randolph E. Schmid, in his article on the back of Section 3 of the April 9 Daily Herald reported on an archeological find presented by professor Lee Berger of the University of Witwerstrand. The headline screamed that the fossils found in Africa may fit in gap between apes and humans. This is no different from the multiple claims through the years of scientists hoping to prove a missing link. When the discovery is discounted, we don't see the retraction.
It was not too many years ago that Nebraska Man was invented based on finding a single tooth. Artists masterfully transformed this tooth into an entire prehistoric being. But it was determined that the tooth actually belonged to a pig. So a pig made a monkey out of an evolutionist.
I was reminded by a recent letter to the editor that "news" articles often reflect the opinion of the reporter, just as scientists' interpretations of evidence are influenced by their previously held beliefs.
An archeologist coming across bones he describes as Australopithecus will either see these from an evolutionist's point of view as a hoped for link in the descent of man or from a creationist's view as the ape that they are, just as the famous "Lucy," comprised of bones from several sites, was shown to be nothing more than a chimpanzee. Mankind alone was formed in the image of God, not evolved from ape kind.
