Local firefighters are worth every penny

We would like to extend a big heartfelt thank you to the Wheeling Fire Department and the many other neighboring fire departments who responded to the condominium fire on Good Friday.

This was a very bad fire that had the potential to take out the entire building due to the high winds and a delay in calling 911. Many families in our building have suffered devastating losses and the few remaining ones are very thankful that our units sustained almost no damage and we have a roof over our heads because of the quick, professional and aggressive response to the fire.

In a time where people are complaining about firefighter's pensions they should really stop to think that these brave people are the very ones who risk their lives to run into a burning building to save you and if they can they will try to save your home and possessions as well and they are worth every penny.
