Antioch notches first victory

Antioch's girls soccer team netted its first win of the season Friday.

Hosting its own two-day invitational, the Sequoits blanked Harvard 3-0.

Ericka Slack, Melissa Spooner and Abbi McIlhany scored for Antioch (1-5), while keeper Amber Dalgaard made 3 saves in earning the shutout.

Grayslake Central 1, Woodstock North 0: Kelly Jay scored off an assist from Brooke Swearingen, as the host Rams won their third straight game and sixth in eight.

Kat Dickson recorded her fifth shutout, making 1 save for Grayslake Central (6-6), which started the season 0-4.

"The girls played great possession tonight and created great chances in the final third," Rams coach Mike McCaulou said. "(We) just didn't finish well. I was very happy about the effort from everybody tonight and this year. We got to keep it up."

Lake Zurich 0, Evanston 0: The Bears (4-3-1) settled for their first draw of the season.
