Health reform step toward helping all
Reading all the letters on the subject of health reform I am amazed at all the numbers being quoted. How do people know that 60 percent of the population opposes health reform? I have not been asked nor anyone I know, and that covers several states. As far as Bean being out of touch, I was at her office holding a sign and chanting to bring in health reform. We outnumbered those opposing the bill by three to one. Perhaps our district is not so conservative after all.
So, if we take Big Brother out of the picture ... I say charge only those families with children in FREE public schools to pay. My kids are grown and I am still paying for all you other people. Freeloaders, all of you! Free libraries? If you use the library, pay for it! Why should you library users get a free ride? Aw, heck, just do away with any program that helps out anyone. As far as doctors getting less money, aw, shucks, no BMW, no Armani suits? How can we really save money on health care? Fewer unnecessary tests, less money to big pharmaceutical companies, less spending on health care reimbursements for physicians, fewer unnecessary operations and procedures. How about better run insurance programs? I have lived in a one-payer country and I loved it.
Since our taxes go to provide our legislators with health are, gyms, et al, why should we expect less? Hey, another way to save big bucks ... have everyone on Capital Hill pay for their own health care and take less in lifetime pensions?
Yes, that was very sarcastic. Can we stop behaving like our country is doomed? We are simply moving toward caring for all of our citizens, in good times and in bad. We elected President Obama, now let us support him. He is not acting out of his own interest and is not being deterred by a right wing, Christian minority. He is a man of conviction. I am proud to have voted for him and support health reform.
