A fortune to win our hearts and minds
Who could have imagined anyone but an insurance company would be so angry over a law that stops health care companies from overcharging and denying rightful claims?
Who could have guessed that anyone but an insurance company would so violently oppose a law that opens up the insurance market and gives us more choices?
Who would ever have believed that anyone but an insurance company would argue against health insurance for those of us with long term health problems?
Nobody, that's who. And that's precisely why the health insurance lobby has spent a fortune to win the hearts and minds of Americans - to paint health care reform as an evil government plot to bring health care to sick folks. The fact is health care reform will end a multitude of dirty little insurance practices.
The American Medical Association thinks it's a good thing - hardly a gang of socialists. For those who are happy with their health insurance companies and believe they are charged fairly, great. Sit down and be quiet, so the rest of us can find out what that's like.
