Palatine offers deals with shopping passport
For a fun spin on shopping, check out Girls on the Town in downtown Palatine.
Shops, restaurants and businesses will offer demonstrations, special offers, music, complimentary food and beverages, fashion and home decor ideas for women.
The event, sponsored by the Palatine Downtown Association, takes place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 24.
Start off at one of the participating merchants to pick up your passport for $1, and fill it up with stamps from each place you visit. Passports will then be entered into a raffle.
A couple of examples of the specials you'll see include $6 martinis at Emmett's Ale House and complimentary food, wine tasting and 10 percent off storewide sale at Chandelier Boutique.
Some passport proceeds benefit the Society for the Preservation of Human Dignity. You can also drop off donations of baby food and baby formula and participating merchants to benefit PHD's Baby and Maternity Closet.
