Why keep rewarding hapless CEOs?
I had to laugh when I read in the April 3 Daily Herald that "Allstate Corp. said Chief Executive Officer Tom Wilson's compensation rose 31 percent as the company's stock declined for a third straight year."
How can U.S. companies continue to reward their hapless leaders with such lucrative compensation packages? I sure hope that everyone at Allstate got a 31 percent raise, but I doubt that is the case. Something is seriously wrong with our CEO pay treatment and it is hard to know what to do about it, other than as a consumer I can choose not to do business with Allstate.
