Come together to make America better

What is happening to our country? All the things that are in the news are extremely alarming.

A boy punches another boy in a fight. The mother of one sees the other boy and rams him against a wall with her car; not content with that horror, she then takes a baseball bat and beats him in the head, killing him. A mother of a small delightful girl thinks giving her sedatives to render her unconscious whilst the mother goes out, is nothing wrong. We all recoil from the horror of it and the child is dead. A girl's boyfriend is accused in the beating death of her mother; left dead in bed. The poor miners forced to work in a dangerous mine and without proper representation by a trade union, because there is no alternative employment. Now we are told this mine has a reputation for danger and the owner is concerned only with profits. Policemen in New Orleans killed a number of citizens trying to seek shelter from the hurricane flooding and the cover-up is a resounding scandal. I also have to include the poor little darling who killed herself because of bullying while the school, teachers, counselors and the principal turned away.

Then the Washington arguments are not what we expect from our elected officials. How did this level of corruption evolve while we were looking the other way? We have a wonderful president and an opportunity for real change to make our country what it should be - the best in the world. But he seems to only get constant criticism from the Republicans and the press; not the working together that we really need and the support of our president that he really needs.
