'Through a Child's Eyes' exhibit back

The Feet First Museum of the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is presenting a free public art exhibition, "Through a Child's Eyes," through Friday, April 23.

This is the second annual version of this popular art exhibit. For this year, Rosalind Franklin University has partnered with the Gorter Family Foundation through its affiliate North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP).

The exhibition will feature more than 100 drawings, paintings and Lego constructions from the children of Rosalind Franklin University faculty, staff and students, as well as students from three North Chicago elementary Schools: Forrestal Elementary School on the Great Lakes Naval Training Base, A.J. Katzenmaier School and Neal Math and Science Academy.

The children's artworks explore in a delightfully creative way the future of medicine, doctors and health care sciences.

"Through the vivid imagination of the children, we see their incredibly unique vision of doctors, patients and health care technology in the 21st century, including the future of medicine in outer space," said David McKay, the curator of the Scholl College Feet First Museum. "It's an absolutely wonderful show."

The art exhibit is based on the commitment of Rosalind Franklin University to community outreach. Staff members Mary Andrews, Renee Besler, Patti Garland, Ellen Lamm, Charena Lofton-Fullwood and Tammy Taylor coordinated the project.

The general public and school groups are encouraged to visit the exhibit. For more information, contact McKay at (847) 578-8417.
