No such thing as a pro-choice Catholic
So now, in his recent guest view, Senator Durbin speaks for the Catholic Church. No surprise. His pro-choice position is at odds with the church he claims to belong. His view makes it clear that you really can't be pro-choice and Catholic. Of course you can call yourself anything you want.
He quotes in his defense Sister Carol Keehan who endorses "Obama Care."
At the very least she is misguided. She thinks that there are safeguards in the legislation to ensure no federal funds are used for abortion. Not so. If it were, Obama would not have signed an executive order prohibiting federal funds for abortion in order to get so-called pro-life Democrat votes. Meaningless. Law trumps executive orders.
Senator Durbin or Sister Carol aren't concerned that there will be almost $500 billon in Medicare cuts. Just above the senator's view, Edward Moon writes that Rush Limbaugh will start broadcasting from Costa Rica. He will neither move there or broadcast from there. Rush said he would go there for his health care. Wish I could afford to do that.
Mr. Moon ought to try listening to him instead of parroting the lefts talking points.
