Why aren't liberals standing up for this?
Media liberals seem intent on steering the conversation on the recently passed legislation away from the bill itself, focusing instead on the actions of those who oppose it.
CNN and MSNBC have devoted countless hours of airtime to possible threats of violence from conservatives: The evidence so far? Angry words and broken glass. Now I am not suggesting this vandalism shouldn't be taken seriously, but from all the hysteria and fear mongering you would think that liberals believe that conservatives are stockpiling words of mass destruction.
So why are liberals trying so hard to change the conversation? Perhaps, they don't want us to remember that the bill was passed despite the objections of the majority of the country. Maybe, they don't want us to think about the fact that the bill failed to meet any of the criteria for legislation that the president set forth on the campaign trail: like transparency, bi-partisanship or ensuring that important legislation like this achieved a consensus (a super majority), rather than just an up and down vote.
Undoubtedly, they want us to forget about the special deals and pork projects included in the bill, and they certainly don't want us to consider how we are going to fund this bill in the future. No, according to liberals what we should be concerned about is all those conservatives sending angry e-mails and breaking glass.
The next thing you know some right-wing nut might do something violent like fly a plane into an IRS office. Oh yeah, that guy was a left-wing nut. Kill that story.
If this legislation is really so wonderful wouldn't they all be talking about that?
