Workers ready Glen Ellyn pool for season

Yes, we had temperatures in the 20s a few short days ago, but summer will be here before you know it.

Proof of that comes in the form of Larry Pool (yes, that's really his name) and Jim Worland, who spent Friday getting ready to replace and reroute the drains at Sunset Pool in Glen Ellyn in anticipation of the upcoming swimming season.

Their efforts are needed to bring the pool into compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act, a requirement of all public pools, according to Kathleen Talenco, marketing and communications supervisor with the Glen Ellyn Park District.

And if that isn't evidence enough, try this: Pool passes go on sale Monday, April 12; the pool opens Saturday, May 29.
