Abortion funding order is a sham

I offer the following to our politicians as a solution to the state budget crisis.

Have the state lottery conduct a contest where each entrant predicts the date and time that President Obama rescinds his executive order barring the use of federal funds for abortions. The state and the person closest in predicting the actual time will split the proceeds. And for a relatively short time, the state would have full use of the funds to earn interest to further alleviate the deficit. Assuredly, he won't wait too long so we had best implement this quickly.

Shame on those politicians who accepted this meaningless gesture and compromised the wishes of their constituencies and their own beliefs, and shame on those, including Sen. Durbin in a column in this paper, in perpetuating this fraud. It is an insult to our intelligence to assume that we will believe that this executive order is a bona fide resolution of this issue. It also attacks the credibility of those parroting this lie as to the truth of any of their claims regarding the entire health care debate.
