City names new airport security chief

The city of Chicago has named a new head of security at O'Hare International Airport in wake of accusations from the former chief that one of the nation's top airport is vulnerable to terrorists.

Richard Edgeworth has most recently served as director of training for the Chicago Fire Department. He replaces Jim Maurer -- a career police officer fired from the post last fall.

Maurer says he sought to raise concerns about O'Hare's vulnerability while at O'Hare. But he accused aviation officials of being more worried about delays to a $5 billion expansion of O'Hare.

Mayor Richard Daley responded that O'Hare was safe and accused Maurer of being a disgruntled ex-employee.

Edgeworth will make $161,000 as the security head. He'll oversee more than 200 employees.
