Cougars game snowed out

APPLETON, Wis. - The start of the Kane County Cougars' 20th season will have to wait another day as Thursday night's season opener with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Time Warner Cable Field was postponed due to snow.

The Midwest League game will be made up Friday at 6 p.m. as part of a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games.

Kane County right-handers Jonathan Joseph and Rob Gilliam are the probable starting pitchers for Game 1 and Game 2, respectively.

In one end of the twinbill, the Rattlers are expected to use major leaguer Jeff Suppan as a starting pitcher on a rehab assignment from the Milwaukee Brewers. Right-hander Nick Bucci is also scheduled to start for the Rattlers.

The Cougars' home opener at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva is slated for 1 p.m. Sunday against the Burlington Bees
