Open letter to those who bear the burden
It has never been more difficult to be a young person in this country. No, I am not talking about the destructive social pressures that beset them from every side, temptations my generation could not even imagine. Rather I am referring to how their future has been mortgaged almost beyond any possibility of redemption.
Their parents' ability to help them has been devastated by an irresponsible government that has undermined the economy and put millions out of work. Higher education has never been more expensive and many graduate with crushing debt. Many graduates complete their studies only to find there are no job opportunities for them either. The nation continues to be the worlds' policemen, wasting more money we don't have and feeding our children into the killing fields of the Middle East. And now the man they supported for president has quadrupled the debt and forced upon them, those least able to pay, the financial responsibility for his fiscal promiscuity.
Kids, you need to put down the iPhones and all the other gadgets and take a long hard look into the future, your future. This November you must again march to the polls in overwhelming numbers and send another message. No one has the right to sell your future. You can blame us for everything up to this point. But if you don't act then, you will have no to blame but yourselves.
