BACOA offers appointments for Circuit Breaker enrollment
Applications for the Illinois Department on Aging's Circuit Breaker/Pharmaceutical Assistance program are now being filled by the Barrington Area Council on Aging. For qualifying seniors and disabled persons, total income in 2009 must be less than:
• $27, 610 if filling an application for yourself only
• $36, 635 if filling an application for yourself and your spouse, or yourself and one qualified additional resident
• $45, 657 if filling an application for yourself, your spouse and at least one qualified additional resident, or yourself and at least two qualified additional residents.
This program provides relief from property and mobile home taxes, rent or nursing home charges; it also provides assistance in paying for designated prescription medications; and offers a vehicle license discount.
