Arlington Hts. band goes Bohemian
The Arlington Heights Community Concert Band celebrates its 30th season with the concert, "Bohemian Rhapsodies," at 2 p.m. April 11 at the Forest View Educational Center, 2121 Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.
The program features "Armenian Dances," "Ukrainian Folk Songs," "Slavonic Rhapsody" and Klezmer dances as well as the Adam LaSpata-transcribed "Fantaisie Pastorale Hongroise" played by his Hungarian spouse, Michelle. "The music is vibrant, rhythmic and emotional," says Adam, "sort of an Eastern European Jazz."
Admission is free. For tickets, call (847) 718-7702. arlingtonheightsband.org.
