Bravery shown in health care vote
I want to thank our president and Congress and, in particular, Congressman Bill Foster for having the courage and wisdom to vote for the health care reform bill. The state of health care in America has been the source of many discussions for years now and even though we have been paying more per capita than any other industrialized country our outcomes and rankings under most criteria have been low.
We finally have leaders who have had the determination to actually get something done in Washington and the bill that has passed should be a start in making Americans healthier and slowing the unsustainable costs that have been making us less competitive, as well as protecting the most vulnerable among us from some of the more egregious abuses of the insurance industry. Thanks again to those brave leaders and civil servants who have put their country above partisan politics.
