Chicago waitress sentenced in restaurant murder
A Cook County judge has sentenced a former waitress to 42 years in prison for the murder of the assistant manager of a Chicago restaurant.
In Thursday's sentencing hearing, Cook County Circuit Judge Lawrence Fox handed 28-year-old Erika Ray concurrent sentences of 42 years in prison for murder and 22 for armed robbery.
Prosecutors said Ebenezer fired Ray from her job at a Leona's restaurant on the South Side several hours before the fatal attack. They contend Ray then rounded up a man named Lorenzo Wilson and three others to carry out a revenge plan.
Wilson was found guilty by a separate jury, also of murder and armed robbery.
Twenty-three-year-old Paris Gosha, and a juvenile have pleaded guilty to charges related to the case, while another man was never charged.
