Libertyville shuts out Fenton

Andi pitched a dandy.

Libertyville sophomore Andi Grant fired a complete-game 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts, as the Wildcats defeated Fenton 4-0 in the McCook indoor tournament Wednesday.

Brittany Schick went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored for Libertyville (2-2). Danielle Kaczmar (RBI), Grant (RBI), Olivia Wilcox (run scored) and Toni Kintzel all had singles.

Grayslake North sweeps Round Lake: The Knights captured wins of 6-0 and 9-0, as Kristina Gandy won both games, striking out 17 batters on the day.

In Game 1, Gandy fanned 10. The Knights got doubles from Gandy, Kelsey Borders and Racquel Ness, and a triple from Ashley King.

In Game 2, Sarah Abelseth had the lone hit, a slap single, for Round Lake and played well at second base.

Minooka 8, Grayslake Central 0: Minooka jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning but didn't blow the game open until a four-run seventh.

Fenton 7, Grayslake Central 2: The Rams trailed 5-0 before scoring twice in the fifth.
