Cubs name new VP/CFO

The Cubs today named Jon Greifenkamp as the club's vice president/chief financial officer.

Greifenkamp joins the Cubs after serving the past four years as the Vice President of Finance for Thomson Reuters Healthcare in Evanston, a leading global provider of integrated information-based solutions to business and professional customers. Greifenkamp led the successful sale and integration of Solucient into Thomson Healthcare.

"Jon brings growth-oriented financial skills, a strong understanding of the Cubs organization and a passion for baseball," said Cubs President Crane Kenney.

Prior to leading the sale and integration, Greifenkamp became the Vice President of Finance for Solucient, LLC in 2000. He was a key member of the Solucient Operating Committee that was responsible for setting and monitoring strategic direction of the company. Greifenkamp joined Solucient LLC in 1996 as assistant controller before becoming director of finance in 1998.

Greifenkamp began his career as a senior accountant at Price Waterhouse LLP, serving clients that included the Chicago Cubs and Tribune Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Marquette University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jon, his wife, Nicole, and their three children (Charlie, Will and Gracie) reside in Western Springs.
