Masked gunmen invade Des Plaines home

Des Plaines police are looking for possibly four masked gunmen who entered a home on the 1300 block of River Road early this morning and held a married couple at gunpoint while ransacking their residence.

No one was injured, police said.

The incident happened at 12:30 a.m. After nearly 13 hours, investigators still don't know what, if anything, is missing from the home. Authorities would not divulge any information on what the gunmen were looking for and how they left from the home.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the home was targeted and that there is no known immediate danger to Des Plaines residents, according to the police report.

The report notes there was a 56-year-old male victim, but officials would not confirm whether he was the target.
