Egg drop from helicopterFaith Lutheran Church, Eola Road and Liberty Street, Aurora, has a helicopter-dropped Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday. There are three age groups: prekindergarten and younger, kindergarten through second grade, and third grade through fifth grade. After the hunt, free games and activities will be held inside the church, including the taking of Easter photos. Refreshments will also be provided. A bake sale will be held to support Faith Lutheran Church's youth group in their efforts to take a mission trip to the Dominican Republic this summer. All responses are anonymous. Additional steps in developing the revised strategic plan will include community focus groups aimed at refining the information collected via surveys and drafting goals and strategies for improvement for the school board.Geneva students honoredTwo Geneva High School students were recently named Finalists in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program: James Mahoney and Daniel Wright. They are among 15,000 students nationwide to advance to Finalist standing and are now under consideration for selection as Merit Scholar awardees. About 8,200 Finalists will be chosen as Merit Scholarship winners in the 2010 competition.
