Wolves fall in shootout

The Chicago Wolves let a 3-2 lead slip away with 3:23 left in the third period and went on to lose in a shootout, 4-3 to the Texas Stars at the Allstate Arena on Friday night.

The Wolves (45-20-1-6) are in first place in the AHL's West Division and hold an 8-point lead on second-place Texas (41-24-3-4). The teams meet again Sunday at the Allstate Arena. The Wolves, who already have clinched a playoff spot, are 4 points shy of clinching home ice for the first two games of the West Division semifinal playoff series.
