Oak Brook expands recycling program

Oak Brook residents will be getting new recycling carts starting the week of April 4.

Allied Waste will deliver new 65-gallon recycling carts that hold as much material as three standard recycling bins. Residents will no longer have to separate recyclables, but can mix all the material in the new cart.

With the new carts and the simpler process, officials estimate Oak Brook should be able to increase the amount of recycled material by about 20 percent.
