Elk Grove grocery sues arsonist

Elk Grove Village's Food4Less is suing the woman who pleaded guilty to setting fires in the store last year.

The store filed suit in Cook County Circuit Court Thursday against Pamela Dinter, 59, of the 1100 block of Cernan Court in Elk Grove Village, who was sentenced to six years in prison for arson in October.

The suit charges that Dinter attempted to start several fires in the store on Feb. 18 last year and that she caused more than $440,000 in damages to the building, products and in lost business.

It seeks compensatory and punitive damages in addition to court costs.
