Dow Microbial inks deal

Buffalo Grove-based Dow Microbial Control, a business group of the Dow Chemical Co., Wednesday acquired an Environmental Protection Agency registration for tetrakis phosphonium sulfate.

The registration strengthens Dow's No. 1 position in the specialty biocides marketplace. The sulfate reduces the growth of algae, molds and yeast in process water used in gas and oil, as well as industrial water treatment applications.
