St. Charles students to blend arts, academics
The Greater St. Charles Education Foundation launches its newest fundraising endeavor, ArtFusion, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles.
"ArtFusion promises to be a magical blend of visual and performing arts and academics presented by the students of Community Unit School District 303," said Nadia BlancDaley, president of the foundation.
The goal of ArtFusion, which the foundation hopes will become an annual event, is to highlight the work of district students to the wider community.
The event will showcase the artwork of students from all 17 district schools and feature school bands, orchestras, choirs, and performers. A display of sculptures and models by middle and high school students will demonstrate the link between math, science and art.
Tickets are $10, $3 for students and are available at stceducation.com or at the door.
The Onesti Italian Steakhouse and Supper Club Restaurant joins the Greater St. Charles Education Foundation in sponsoring ArtFusion.
Since its inception in 1992, the foundation has donated more than $980,000 to benefit District 303 students. The foundation secures contributions from residents, local businesses and corporations through a variety of fundraising activities and annually distributes these funds through program grants to administrators and faculty of District 303, educational honorariums and college scholarships.
