Elk Grove native's book nominated for Edgar Award

Dave Cullen, formerly of Elk Grove Village, has been nominated for the Mystery Writers of America's 2010 Edgar Award in Best Fact Crime for his New York Times best-seller "Columbine."

Cullen is known as a leading authority on the Columbine killers.

His book was picked by Oprah.com and O! Magazine for their Summer Reading List. "Columbine" also has been named to two dozen Best of 2009 lists, including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, iTunes and the American Library Association. An extended edition of the book was released March 3. It includes an afterward with new information.

The Edgars are named after Mystery Writers of America's patron saint, Edgar Allan Poe, and are considered the "Oscars" of the mystery genre. For more information about the award, visit theedgars.com.
