'No place like WDSRA' a hit

Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) recently hosted its 16th charity auction entitled "There's No Place Like WDSRA." A committee of about 20, along with over 100 volunteers, worked more than 1,100 hours to make this event a success. They did a spectacular job.

More than 400 guests were awe-struck by the décor as they entered Glen Ellyn's Abbington. From the tornado in the lobby with Dorothy's house swirling in the midst of it, to the yellow brick road on the ceiling, (provided by American Balloon Company in Glen Ellyn), to the glowing Emerald City, you knew you were in the land of Oz.

So many local businesses pitched in to create a wonderful selection of packages for the silent and live auctions. There was a wide selection and our guests had a great time bidding on all of them. We have such wonderful and generous people and businesses in our community.

Thank you to the committee, the volunteers, the businesses, the sponsors, and to everyone who attended. You all opened your hearts and we thank you.
