Cobbler's care impresses customer

We all understand that 95 percent of customers today want outstanding service in order to continue relationships and return to a business. That was what I experienced from Greg's Shoe Repair in Geneva recently.

In need of leather heel replacement for the existing rubber heels on a new pair of Frye boots, owner Greg Herwaldt took the time to explain the proper height of the Western heel, its proper balance and relationship of the heel positioning to the sole for walking comfort. Not something with which the average consumer would be concerned.

At the same time, his assistant with 25 years in shoe repair showed me how he would layer the leather and angle the heel to achieve this balance and still retain the Western boot heel style and quality.

Herwaldt is the third generation of shoe repair experts in his family. We're very fortunate to have this business in he Tri-Cities.

The boots were ready when promised, and a very fair price was paid for this education, service, the personal attention, and quality retained.
