Enjoy temps today, tomorrow because fair weather won't last
Don't put those winter coats away just yet, officials are warning.
Despite temperatures that could reach 70 degrees today, meteorologists are predicting temperatures will drop to highs of 40 degrees over the weekend, and snow could fall late Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Vanessa Vincente, a spokeswoman for the National Weather Service, said sunny skies will be in place for the next 36 hours and high temps will hover between 65 and 70 degrees.
However, colder winds will move in Friday night and last through the weekend, as high temperatures will move back to their normal 40 degree range.
"Unfortunately, we are headed back to the normal temperatures," she said. "It's not really uncommon to have some high 60 degree days in March when the atmosphere is unstable, but the normal is definitely colder than it has been, in the mid-40s."
She added rain will start to fall Saturday afternoon or evening, which could to snow late Saturday night.
"But, there shouldn't be any accumulation," she said. "It'll be more of a slushy snow with a snow and rain mix."
Temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 40s all next week, except for Wednesday, when temps should reach the lower 50s.
