Batavia man charged in attack on bouncer, cops
A Batavia man attacked two police officers and a bouncer over the weekend after a St. Charles tavern cut him off, police said Tuesday.
Thomas B. Clark, 31, of the 1700 block of Orion Road, was charged with battery, criminal damage to government property and two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, according to Kane County court records.
St. Charles police spokesman Paul McCurtain said Clark punched a bouncer about 10:40 p.m. Saturday at Chord on Blues, 106 S. First Ave., after he was "cut off from having any more alcohol."
After being escorted outside, Clark kicked the same bouncer in the head, then scuffled with a responding police officer who tried to take him into custody, McCurtain said. He also kicked out the rear window of a squad car and later kicked a second officer in the shoulder as attempts were made to restrain him at the police station, according to police.
No serious injuries were reported.
The most serious charge against Clark is a Class 2 felony, punishable by probation or up to seven years in prison.
His next court date is Friday in front of Judge James C. Hallock.
