Wheeling senior lunches don't 'invade privacy'
In response to Jack Caldwell's letter to Fencepost of 3/1, what is he talking about "invasion of privacy" regarding the lunches served at Pavilion Senior Center?
First and foremost, they are not an eating establishment; they are a drop-in center with varied activities during the day! Lunches are provided to seniors for their convenience and camaraderie.
He is totally wrong about reserving a meal 48 hours in advance of it. People who have completed the required form and partake of the lunches only need to let them know before 9 a.m. on the day of the desired lunch!
Yes, as he stated, it is a funded program, and he should have checked before he wrote that letter. In any funded program, it is necessary to complete paperwork and sign in. The form that is required is not the least bit invasive.
Lastly, nobody is forcing Mr. Caldwell to participate in the program. And, may I suggest that he should check out the facts next time before submitting a letter that is full of errors or appearing before the Wheeling board to complain.
