West Maude Avenue a regular raceway

In these hard economic times, when towns are cutting services, laying off workers, searching for any additional revenues they can, I have a short term, cash-cow idea: Once in awhile have some Arlington Heights cops actually try to get speeders on West Maude Avenue. Forget Thomas, not going to happen.

Starting at 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., and then resuming again at roughly 4 p.m., the Wild West show begins. My street is a way to navigate from State Road clean through to Kennicott, and on to Palatine Road, at speeds that would make NASCAR proud.

There are no stop signs to break the flow (except 1 block west of Arlington Hts. Road - duh, that was a clever idea), and 50+ is the average speed both ways. We get a tow driver who has to be at 60+ at least 3X week.

You want hefty revenues until the public catches on - West Maude Avenue is the solution, AND, please, set back a little like on Chestnut, not at the park in plain view for blocks.
