Tickets on sale soon for hospice 'Garden Party'

Tickets for the "Garden Party," Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice's signature fundraising event, will go on sale at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 17. Tickets are $62 and will be available in-person at the offices, 200 Whitfield Drive in Geneva, or by calling (630) 232-2233. A limited number of tickets will be sold.

The annual Garden Party, which raises more than a quarter of the hospice's budget, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 30, at the Q Center, off Route 25 in St. Charles.

A popular feature are the expansive "baskets," which really aren't baskets at all, but large groupings of items, gift certificates and services, all focused on a theme.

There will be 22 basket packages in all, including Fantasy Getaway, Cold Cash, Diamonds are Forever and Patio Pleasures, as well as new basket packages like "Living" Room with plants, trees, shrubs, Man Cave, Book Worm with E-Reader, and Uncorked.

Lunch will be served, and entertainment will be provided by the Waubonsee Community College Steel Drum Band, with percussionist and drummer Frank Check.

Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice is a nonprofit organization offering support for those with life-threatening illnesses and the bereaved in Kane and Kendall counties and parts of DuPage, Cook and McHenry counties. All of its services are free.
