Literacy Volunteers to host Trivia Bee

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley will hold its 10th annual Trivia Bee for Literacy from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 20, at the Q Center, 1405 N. Route 25, St. Charles.

Three-person teams will compete to answer questions on this year's theme, "candy," and a variety of other topics for the chance to win awards, prizes and bragging rights for one year.

"We hope to have at least 40 businesses, organizations and individuals volunteer to join or sponsor teams to compete in the Trivia Bee," said Peg Coker, executive director of Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley. There also will be a silent auction during the event.

The entry donation is $400 per team.

"This is about what it costs to provide support to one adult learner and tutor for 10 months," said Coker of the entry fee. "Proceeds will help LVFV meet the demand for one-on-one tutoring of adults to improve their literacy and fluency in English."
