Our forefathers would be ashamed

As a retired company executive and AF four-year veteran, I can no longer stay silent when I see our beloved country being driven to bankruptcy. Our fiscally irresponsible Congress, including both parties, has left only debt to our offspring.

This continued irresponsible behavior seems to have infected state, county and local governments, also, to the point they too are bankrupt or soon will be. The only solution our politicians ever have, is to raise taxes and make our citizens more and more dependent on them for every necessity of life and dictate to us what moral, ethical and religious belief systems we are allowed to have.

Every tax results in one less freedom and empowers some politician or un-elected bureaucrat to give away our hard-earned money. One could argue it is buying votes by bribing the electorate and giving the bill to our kids. Like it or not, we must face the fact, that these people are and will continue to be corrupt. The solution is to clean house by voting the crooks out of office, establish term limits, re-establish our Constitutional rights and limit government to the provisions contained within this document.

This proposed heath care plan is nothing more than a continuation of the tax and grab, power ploy used for the past 30 years that has resulted in the nanny state. Our fathers and forefathers would be ashamed of what we let this country become. I cry for all the ones who fought and died and for our children and grandchildren who will never again breathe the air of the land of the free and the home of the brave.
