What about cutting waste?

Isn't it amazing that when the politicians want to raise taxes they tell us that unless they raise them they will need to cut school funding and health care? They always cry that they must cut school funding or health care. Why don't they cut out wasteful spending?

The MidAmerica Airport (near St. Louis) was built by the taxpayer at what cost? To alleviate crowding at Lambert International Airport, but it has little service from any airline. We paid for it. Peotone Airport is still moving forward. The state bought more than 2,000 acres or half of what it needs ... at what cost to the taxpayers?

Two examples and hundreds of others around the state could be cut or put on hold until a later date. More than 10 percent unemployment in the state, raise taxes and more business leave, and more people will leave. I'm considering it.

Raise my taxes and I must cut out something: food, clothing, lower the temperature, drive less - something must be cut. Let's cut spending by the state.
