Responsible people footing all the bills
And now Obama wants to set the premium rates for health insurance companies. Obama may not be as stupid as some think. He knows that if he can set the premium rates, he can pick the winners and losers and determine who is able to remain in the insurance business. And, if he makes it impossible for any to make a profit, all we will have left is government-run socialized medicine. He is so anti-business, anti-free enterprise and anti-capitalism that he cannot see that minor changes in state insurance industry regulations would create competition that would automatically prevent insurance companies from charging excessive rates. But this ignorance should not be surprising ... Obama has also promised he can cut funding for Medicare in half with no reductions in coverage. Ho! Ho!
Obama has never run anything and has no concept of insurance risks or the relationship between premiums and costs. None of the liberal Democrat health care proposals will have any cost reduction effect. The liberals want "the rich" to pay for the health coverage of those who say they can't afford it and they want those that have decided they don't want insurance coverage (sometimes for good reasons) to pay a fine (or is it a tax) when they refuse to pay for something they may not need.
Even with a simple issue like "pre-existing conditions exclusions," Obama never tells us that those who have made sacrifices to make sure that there is no lapse in coverage when they are between jobs or have financial difficulties will now be paying higher premiums to pay the bills for those that made no such effort. Contrary to the liberal view (especially as expressed by the ultraliberal Iowa senator Tom Harkin), health care is not a "right." There is no reference to that "right" in the Constitution. It is only a liberal dream as another opportunity "to redistribute the wealth"!
Big government control of insurance premiums is almost as ludicrous as the recently imposed restrictions on credit card companies. As a result of the liberals' effort to protect deadbeats from paying too much interest on their overdue credit card accounts, many of those that pay their bills on time will now be paying annual "service fees" in order for the credit card companies to stay in business. Another case of responsible people paying the bill for the irresponsible ones!
Obama has demonized banks, pharmaceutical companies, auto companies, doctors, mortgage companies, any executive with access to a corporate jet, anyone that might think about a vacation in Las Vegas or anyone with a salary bigger than his. He has dissed our friends and allies and kissed up to and bowed in front of our enemies and other national leaders. It wasn't until her husband was about to be elected president that Ms. Obama was proud of our country. It seems that Mr. Obama has not yet reached that point.
As Margaret Thatcher observed, "Socialism always fails because eventually you run out of other peoples' money." Who could have predicted that Obama could spend all of our money (and our children's money) in only one year?
Is it any wonder that Obama's "unfavorable" ratings are some of the highest that have ever been measured?
