Arlington Heightsbull; Juan M. Alvarado, 47, of the 1700 block of West Mansard Lane, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 11:55 p.m. March 7 at Denny's restaurant, 17 W. Algonquin Road, and charged with battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Reports said Alvarado, an employee, grabbed a butcher knife and hurled it at manager. The knife missed him but punctured a garbage can. His court date is April 6. bull; Jerome R. Marye, 46, of the 5600 block of South Princeton Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. March 3 at Arlington Heights and Golf roads and charged with traffic violations and possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is April 16. bull; Thieves stole a wallet out of a customer's purse between 8 and 9 p.m. March 6 at Pappadeaux restaurant, 798 W. Algonquin Road. Someone used a credit card in the wallet to make two purchases at Meier. The female victim believes the wallet was taken in the lobby as she and her husband were leaving. A man shouted that a screw fell from his eyeglasses and asked those in the lobby to help him find it. bull; Burglars broke into a 1996 Nissan Maxima in the public garage at 155 E. Eastman between 9:50 and 10:20 a.m. March 3 and stole a wallet and cell phone. Loss was estimated at $325.bull; Thieves stole a cell phone valued at $250 from Best Buy, 615 E. Palatine Road, around 8:10 p.m. March 4.Buffalo Grovebull; Christian Garcia Pina, 28, of the 200 block of Cindy Lane, Wheeling, was charged with retail theft March 6 at Jewel Foods, 79 North McHenry Road. A store official reported that two subjects took merchandise and then left the store without paying, driving off in a red Ford Explorer. Police stopped the car and a manager identified Pina as one of the offenders, reports said.bull; A resident of the 1-100 block of Glendale Road reported that someone unknown opened a credit card account in his name at a retail store. The unknown subject then charged $3,548.95 to that account. The purchases occurred in California. The credit card provider will follow up. bull; A resident returned home to the 1100 block of Miller Lane on March 6 find that the sliding doors to the apartment had been forced open. A dresser drawer was emptied onto the bed and $250 in cash was missing.Des Plainesbull; George T. Nudi, 47, of the 1900 block of Howard Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 5 p.m. March 7 on the 1900 block of East Oakton Street and charged with local ordinances possession of drug paraphernalia and drinking in public. His court date is April 27.bull; Burglars broke into a 2010 Ford Fusion on the 200 block of West King Lane between 8:30 p.m. March 6 and 12:55 a.m. March 7 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $11,500.bull; A boy grabbed the cell phone valued at $300 out of a 12-year-old boy's hand while both were riding bicycles on the 600 block of South Parsons Avenue around 3:45 p.m. March 6. The robber and his companion sped away on their bikes.bull; Burglars broke into a 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan in a hotel lot at 2930 S. River Road between 6 p.m. March 3 and 6 a.m. March 4 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $400.bull; Burglars broke into a 1999 Honda Odyssey SUV taxicab on the 2100 block of Ash between 9:30 p.m. March 3 and 6 a.m. March 4 and stole a GPS unit, taxi meter and keyboard. Loss was estimated at $1,000.Mount Prospectbull; Jorge L. Montesinos, 42, of the 1000 block of North Wheeling Road, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 12:15 p.m. March 2 at his apartment after he punched a man in the eye in the parking lot at Euclid Elementary School, 1211 N. Wheeling Road, around 11:30 a.m. Feb. 26. Montesinos was angry that the victim's car was in his way, police said. Robinson, 37, of the 3200 block of Fremont Street, Rolling Meadows, was arrested around 4:45 p.m. March 4 at the Woodstock police department and charged with criminal trespass to vehicle. Police said he found car keys on a fare box at the Metra depot in Barrington Feb. 28, after the female victim left them there by mistake. Reports said Robinson found the woman's 2009 GMC Acadia SUV in the parking lot and drove the car until it ran out of gas, abandoning it in a Woodstock parking lot. A GPS unit and silver coffee mug were missing from the car, police said.bull; Vandals broke the radio antenna on a 1996 Honda Accord in a store lot at 150 W. Police said he tackled a man, knocking him to the floor. He also struggled and pushed an officer during the arrest, reports said. bull; Michael R. Pilip, 26, of the 400 block of Stratford Circle, Streamwood, was arrested around 2:25 p.m. Feb. 25 on the 600 block of Lincolnwood Drive and charged with traffic violations and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. bull; Vandals wrote gang graffiti on a bathroom stall in a boys' bathroom at Streamwood High School, 701 W. Schaumburg Road, around 8 a.m. Feb. 25. The graffiti referred to The Oaks subdivision where there has been increased gang activity.
