The right to possess handguns

Chicago-area residents should have the right to possess handguns. The Constitution's Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess guns, at least for self-defense in the home.

This right should apply to all citizens, considering states have the ample authority to impose reasonable regulations. Reasonable regulations on the amendment could be put in place, securing firearms in a safe perhaps.

Require all citizens in the area requesting to possess a handgun to agree to a contract under the use of protection only. The act of banning handguns in Chicago could create more anger, and more illegal gun activity could take place.
