Police: Man approached Palatine boy

The Palatine Police Department is warning residents about a man who tried to coax an 8-year-old boy into his car to help look for his lost dog.

The boy refused and alerted his parents immediately following the incident, which occurred Sunday at Cheryl Lane and Pleasant Hill Blvd. The man was driving a newer red car, possibly a Toyota Camry, with a decal of a baseball embedded in the rear window.

He is described as Asian, 60 to 75 years old, and spoke with an accent. Anyone with information should call (847) 359-9000.
