Port Barrington trustee charged with battery after bar fight

A Port Barrington village trustee has been charged with two counts of battery for his role in a bar fight in McHenry County.

Jay Charles Motley, 43, of the 400 block of Riverside Drive in Port Barrington, is scheduled to be in court Friday after being arrested and charged by McHenry County Sheriff officials.

The complaint alleges Motley was at the Herman Rest A While near Port Barrington on Feb. 28 when he got into a scuffle with a male and female patron.

The complaint alleges Motley bit the male in the ear and pushed a female to the ground. The woman hit her head on the concrete floor and caused a lump.

He's due in McHenry County Court on Friday to answer the charges. His bond was unavailable early Wednesday regarding the charges.
