Scouting: DePaul vs. South Florida

When: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Madison Square Garden

TV: ESPN2 Radio: depaulbluedemons.com

Skinny: For the second year in a row, the Blue Demons hope to open the Big East tournament with a 16th-seed shocker over an NCAA Tournament hopeful. The Bulls stand at No. 63 in the RPI and No. 74 on Ken Pomeroy's list (kenpom.com), so they could use a couple of wins to buttress their argument. USF won at DePaul 63-59 last Tuesday, but the Demons led by 5 at halftime and pulled into a 56-56 tie with 2:32 to go. The Bulls couldn't stop Mac Koshwal, but DePaul benefited from one of first-team all-Big East guard Dominique Jones' worst games. He went 4 of 17 from the floor- and he's not apt to do that again.

Advancement: The winner gets No. 8 seed Georgetown for a second-round game at 11 a.m. Wednesday (ESPN).
