32-year-old man stabbed outside Elgin restaurant
Elgin police are searching for the assailant who stabbed a restaurant employee on Friday night.
The 32-year-old victim, hometown unknown, survived the attack. He was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin and underwent surgery Friday night, police said.
The attack occurred about 9:10 p.m. at a Wendy's restaurant on the 1000 block of Dundee Avenue, Deputy Police Chief Jeff Swoboda said.
The victim was involved in an altercation with the attacker, was stabbed and then went into the restaurant and told co-workers about the attack, Swoboda said.
A motive for the attack was not immediately known. Police will continue to question the victim, Swoboda said.
