Public insurance option a must
The health care bills that passed the Senate and the House are a mangled mess. These bills were hacked and slashed in the erroneous hope that some form of party collaboration could be achieved.
We need affordable health care for everyone. I am currently unemployed and disabled. This does not mean I can't work; I just can't do certain activities. What it does mean is that it makes me unable to obtain independent health insurance. I tried and was flatly turned down by all.
Granted, insurance is a business and as such needs to make a profit, but a forced mandate to buy private insurance without the choice of a public option is wrong. For months, polling has shown that a mandate with no public option is extremely unpopular.
Please write, call, or e-mail you representatives and let them know we need a public option. Option, as in those who don't want it don't need to buy into it.
