Carpentersvillebull; A 22-year-old Wauconda man driving through Carpentersville Wednesday was pulled over and later charged with a pair of drug offenses after officers discovered two pills containing Hydrocodone and .59 grams of marijuana, police said. John L. Ortleib, of the 100 block of Mill Street, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and marijuana. Ortleib was pulled over on Route 31 and Spruce Street for driving with an obstructed windshield, police said. The officer smelled marijuana in the car and later found the pills, police said. Ortleib's bond was set at $8,000 and he is due in court March 30 at the Kane County Judicial Center.Crystal Lakebull; A 29-year-old Woodstock man faces at least 10 years in prison after his conviction Thursday on charges he stabbed two men during a 2007 brawl outside a Crystal Lake bar. Rejecting claims of self-defense, McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather found Keith M. Bounds guilty of armed violence, mob action and two aggravated battery charges alleging he stabbed the Cary men, causing serious, but not life threatening, injuries. Bounds is scheduled to be sentenced May 5.Elginbull; Angel I. Calderon, 18, of the 100 block of Summit Avenue in Elgin, was charged with theft and unlawful use of a credit card after police said he used a stolen debit card to buy more than $331 in merchandise. His bond was set at $3,000 and his next court date is April 1 at the Kane County Judicial Center.South Elginbull; Someone stole $150 from an unlocked car in the 2100 block of Sutton Drive sometime on Feb. 23 and 24, reports said.bull; Lee C. Coleman, 23, of the 200 block of South East Street, South Elgin, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice at 10:41 p.m. Monday after being questioned by officers in the 200 block of South East Street, reports said. Coleman also was wanted on a warrant from Roselle Police for heroin possession, reports said.bull; Sarah M. Adams, 19, of the 1400 block of South 14th Street, St. Charles, and Lauren R. Thompson, 18, of the 400 block of Mayborne Lane, Geneva, were arrested and charged with retail theft of clothing at 5 p.m. Tuesday from Kohl's, 350 Randall Road, reports said.
