Rosemont company builds at Marquette

Opus North Corp. based in Rosemont broke ground Friday on a five story 115,000-square-foot engineering facility called the Discovery Learning Complex at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

The building will feature a two-story engineering materials and structural testing laboratory as well as other new teaching and research laboratories. The new $35 million building is the first of phase of a $100 million, 250,000-square-foot facility expected to be ready by August 2011. Opus is the design-builder in tandem with Opus Architects & Engineers.

Opus North is a full-service design-builder and development firm with expertise in office, industrial, retail, multifamily, government and institutional projects. Opus North has developed more than 315 projects totaling more than 49 million square feet of space since starting operations in 1972.
